Corgi, an unbroken family tradition since 1893…

At Corgi we use only the world's very finest cashmere yarn, which has been combed out by hand from the underfleece of Cashmere goats found in Inner Mongolia and the Xinjiang region of China. The finest yarn comes from the soft coat covering the area between the goat’s neck and its navel. The first shearing of the year always provides the most sought after yarn, as the hair that grows back afterwards is thicker. One goat will produce enough hair in a year to make a small scarf or a pair of socks.
All our cashmere garments are individually knitted and hand finished at our mill in the Welsh Amman valley, using skills passed down for over 100 years.

Care
Hand washing is better for a knitted garment, as the chemicals used in dry cleaning can be especially hard on cashmere fibres. Hand washing a cashmere garment will actually make it softer over time. Use a mild natural soap or detergent like Woolite, and dissolve all cleaner thoroughly before putting the garment into the water. After washing, rinse until the water is clear. Press out the excess water, but do not wring the garment. Instead, lay it flat on a towel away from heat and sun and reshape it as it dries. When dry, you can press it with a damp cloth and cool iron. Fold to store, and never hang a cashmere sweater as it will lose its shape.

Pilling is a normal occurrence on cashmere and wool. While some pilling is to be expected, the high quality yarns used by Corgi will keep this to a minimum. If pilling occurs, carefully pull off the yarn bobbles by hand, then wash the garment.
